Since when did having naturally curly hair have anything to do with being “ghetto”? And contrary to what you idiots think, white woman have naturally curly hair, too. So are they ghetto as well? I’m sick of giving my money to companies that don’t give a crap about the customer’s feelings; they just want our money. Well, guess what, I don’t care if I have to pay more money to get anything your company sells from another company; I’m willing to pay the extra. I won’t be buying another single thing from your company.

I’ve recently come across a product featured on your site titled, “Ghetto Fab Wig.” As one might imagine, this is very unsettling for a number of people, as it perpetuates certain stereotypes people of color have long tried to shake.

What exactly is “Ghetto Fab”? Does natural, afro’d, black american hair denote ghettoness? Out of every possible name to have given this product (see: Curly Fro Wig; 70s Afro Wig; Disco Wig & more) it was decided to go with a name that is the most obligatorily offensive to people of color. This is extremely upsetting, as one would think this sort of mindless stereotype would be nonexistent in 2010, but apparently not.

Department store Kohl’s was recently scrutinized for carrying this product– they’ve since apologized and removed it from their stock. I can only urge amazon.com to do the same.

I am writing this in hopes that someone will actually write a review on it. It appears the name has been changed and I would like to purchuse it for a party I’m going too. Please, will someone let me know how it fits, was the color nice? I think it’s so cute!
